I went ... ZAFU hunting this weekend!


Did my research, found MANY potential locations in Victoria to buy one, but .... it seemed hopeless as most were studios or gyms or walk-in centres, but not stores. 

Only one store had promise. And I was fairly certain I would have to order it. And I wanted Berry, or, as above, PURPLE! My second choice was going to be TEAL.

And, first store I visited, VERY FIRST STORE - HAD A PURPLE ZAFU!!!

KARMA! FATE! DESTINY!

Just lucky, I guess!

So then, the next thing I need to do was find...some driftwood (I call driftwood....Surf Dragons!) and some special beach stones - for they alone can capture tide magic!! And after 3 trips to the beach, found the Surf Dragons and stones I wanted to blend together!

And my corner for silence is now ready! It will never be finished, it will always be changing, it will always welcome silence.....for driftwood listens, especially elder driftwood...and stones listen .... especially beach stones.......

Very simple and very silent. I originally had more driftwood and more stones....but it neither 'felt' right, nor 'sounded' right. I think this is a nice balance of symmetry, simplicity and ..... silence. For me, it will welcome first light at dawn as well as greet first starlight at dusk. All comets are invited to stay as long as they want!


And ..... I have ..... a very silent corner ..... of my own.

I even pushed my luck and went looking for my favourite meditation book, "Inviting Silence", but, alas, did not find it.

I did find a couple of others, called, "Invitation to Meditation" and "One-Minute Mindfulness" and they have great promise.....but still looking to ... 'invite silence' into my corner! Namaste.....

Leftover Dinner DELIGHT!

WHAT A FABULOUS LEFTOVER DINNER! And meets all my exacting, professional requirements: fast, quick, easy, tasty, colourful...and did I mention....fast? AND EASY!!!!!!!

Okay, so basic ingredients are: leftover chicken breast (roasted last night (with cream cheese and asparagus!), rice, olive oil, veggies (asparagus, carrots, snap peas, broccoli, onions, green beans, yellow sweet pepper strips, water chestnuts, garlic and lots of it!!! But really, put any veggies in that you LOVE TO EAT! Oh yes, need the special secret ingredient - Glico Curry HOT SAUCE! Recipe is actually from the secret archives of T-Kat!!!

Chopped up some of the chicken breasts, carrots, garlic and onions and although potatoes called for, did not have any! Oh well! PUT ASPARAGUS IN INSTEAD!

Used a big pot, and fried up the onions, garlic, carrots and chicken breasts for a few minutes, to get them nice and toasty, then put the rest of the veggies in, as well as 2 cups of water and bring to boil and cook for about 10-20 minutes until all tender. THEN - SECRET INGREDIENT TIME! Break up the curry chunks and put in the whole pot...they actually melt quite fast! And then stir until it has boiled down to a nice paste and .. does it ever smell good!
 

Almost ready to eat! SO EASY TO MAKE TOO!

Warm the rice...yeah, that was a bit of leftovers too, but still tasty! And then you have instant meal!

Serve with .. BEER OF COURSE! This was incredibly easy to make and I now have even MORE leftovers for the next few days! 

Dinner is served .. WITH BEER this time! And leftovers GALORE!
